Spring Flurry

Spring has finally sprung in New York City and I couldn’t be happier.  Here in Williamsburg where I reside, the streets and parks have turned into a flurry of white flowers, blooming from tree-to-tree.  In keeping with my environment, I’m excited to be sporting a spring favorite-white-on-white.  Turning in my bold black looks for something a little softer sounds like a great idea.

Winter Blues

Feeling a bit blue lately?  The runways were full of it last February showing off every single shade under the cool sky.  I particularly love seeing it in stores this season since it is one of my favorite colors to wear besides red. Despite what some critics might say, I’m not afraid to layer several different shades on top of each other, and it seems designers weren’t either.  To break it up, mix in a pop of print or block it with another bold color.

Hello Gorgeous

As I bid farewell to yet another year, I look forward to what the new one has in-store for me.  Every year I set goals for myself to achieve, and this year I’ve decided to push the bar even higher.  I can’t wait to let you in on all the new partnerships and collaborations that are happening in 2014.   I’m also excited to be expanding the blog with new features showcasing lots more photos and cool videos, via the styleTV channel.

With that said, as I look back upon the last 365 days, I’m grateful for all the love and support that has been shown to me throughout the year.  Your likes, tweets and comments have not gone unnoticed.  To those who continue to do so on a daily basis, I greatly appreciate your loyalty in support of my work.  Keep them coming!

Style Diary: HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

With the chaos of the holidays in full swing, it’s nice to finally take a little time to unwind.  Whether it’s sleeping in late, going back for seconds, or simply spending a little more one-on-one time with the boys (my nephews), the key word for the past couple days has been to overindulge.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen that often the other 11 months out of the year due to my professional life taking up much of my time.  However, it seems as if my hard work has paid off making it to Santa’s nice list.  We usually exchange Christmas Eve, rather than Christmas morning.  This year was was no different and I was lucky to find some pretty chic gifts under the tree with MY name on them.  I decided to document the evening with some cool shots taken by my new Canon Rebel T3 in the latest “Style Diary” feature.

#Thisisglam-Banana Republic

I paid a visit to one of Banana Republic’s stores this past weekend for a little retail therapy.  Upon entering their men’s store, my eyes quickly focused in on a army green colored hat and subtle camo-print sweater. To my surprise, the promotional offer they were running allowed me 40% off each item.  Quickly jetting off to a fitting room, I was asked by one of the associates to snap a photo of myself via Instagram and hashtag it with #thisisglam to enter in a chance to win a $500 gift card.  A fan of the #selfie movement, I was happy to oblige.  I thought I would also share this cool contest BR is doing all month long with you all.  They are giving away five $500 shopping sprees to one of their stores or online.  To learn more, click here!

Trick or Tweed

As we near the end of October, the fall chill has already started to settle in.  Although not quite ready to completely bundle up, layering has begun for me.  One piece I enjoy sporting around town is a tweed blazer.  For those unaware, tweed is a great material to wear this time of year because of its durability and resistance to a little rain.  Not to mention, the slightly heavier material makes for the perfect informal outerwear.  Designers would agree being that this was a dominate trend, along with herringbone and pinstripe, shown throughout F/W 2013 collections.  A great tip-Keep a scarf close by (another of my fall favorites) for those unexpected windy moments.

Indian Summer

I’ve been loving lately that traces of summer seem to still be lingering here in the Northeast. With temperatures allowing us to extend the use of our summer staples just a little longer, I’m not completely ready to dive into full fall attire.  Keeping in touch with summer, yet starting to call on fall, marrying these two seasons when it comes to your look can sometimes be tricky.  A simple tip to avoid feeling completely out of season? Mix and match your accessories!  It also doesn’t hurt to keep things neutral for a seasonless touch.

Serial Killer

Next week marks the official end of summer and start of the autumnal equinox.  A favorite season of mine to show off the latest fashions, don’t stow away your summer collection just yet.  There are a few short weeks where the weather continues to adjust to its new home.  This transitional period, as I like to call it, is a great time to still sport some of your summer staples, while starting to incorporate your fall favorites.

Luwow!

When not glued to my computer, on a call, or simply just trying to build the agency, one of my favorite pastimes of the summer includes spending it with my close friends and family.  There’s nothing like going to a gathering where everybody knows your name.  It doesn’t happen often for me these days, but when it does, I like to take full advantage of it.

Whether it be a swanky rooftop soiree, backyard BBQ, or loud luau, I like to keep my look casual since it is summer and a time to let loose.  With that said, I’m a sucker for anything bold or shiny.  From colors, to prints, to accessories, this season is all about making a statement.

Personally, I can’t walk by anything metallic without checking it twice.  When I ran into these high-tops by Hugo Boss resembling dorothy’s slippers a couple season’s ago, I knew I had to add them to my collection. Since then, they have given me nothing but joy (and a bit of attention) when on my feet.

I’ve also recently added another pair of Ray-ban aviators with a green metallic finish to my sunglass collection that are just pimp.  When I noticed these puppies in the window; they had my name written all over them.  I’m sure they’ll be glued to my face all summer long.

The shorts I’m sporting are by Parke & Ronen.  They can be doubled as swim trunks which is great for those summer parties with a pool nearby.  Hey, I’m an aquarian and love the water.

The clutch is by Lacoste which I picked up at the outlets in Woodbury.  I love fashion, but I also love it at a discount.  One thing you should know about me is that I never pay full price for anything.

Lastly, one of my favorite looks for summer is a cardigan and shorts.  It’s casual, simple and effortlessly chic. This one I picked up at Club Monaco a couple season’s ago at a sample sale.

Anywho, enough about me!  Drop me a note and let me know what looks you like to rock to your favorite summertime social.
