Indian Summer

I’ve been loving lately that traces of summer seem to still be lingering here in the Northeast. With temperatures allowing us to extend the use of our summer staples just a little longer, I’m not completely ready to dive into full fall attire.  Keeping in touch with summer, yet starting to call on fall, marrying these two seasons when it comes to your look can sometimes be tricky.  A simple tip to avoid feeling completely out of season? Mix and match your accessories!  It also doesn’t hurt to keep things neutral for a seasonless touch.

Trend Alert: Extended Stay

Rules are meant to be broken and in fashion it happens all the time. One that is under constant scrutiny is the dilemma of wearing white after Labor day.  A favorite of mine to ignore, it’s now getting its long overdue stamp of approval on the runways.  With more and more designers extending this summer favorite into their F/W collections, it looks as if white isn’t cutting its unexpected trip anytime soon.

Fall Color Trend: NY STYLE MUSTARD

Last February in New York, designers showcased a variety of colors on the runway for fall.  A front-runner, mustard was a favorite for many.  I’m very happy to be seeing the streets smeared with it this season. When it comes to wearing it, unfortunately, it’s not like black and can be overindulged head-to-toe.  To avoid looking too tangy, it’s best to pair with neutral tones like black, gray and brown.  To really stand out, marinate your look with a bold pattern.

Transition with Summer this Fall

With the official end of summer just a couple days away and fall on the horizon, many us just aren’t ready to part with some of our dog day favorites.  Good news, you don’t have to!  Even better, Galtime.com and I are showing you how to transition your summertime treasures into your fall favorites with some simple and easy tips.  As for me, I loved wearing my colored denim all summer long.  So for Fall, I’m still going to wear it, but instead of pairing it with similar colors, I’m going to sport them with neutrals like black, tan, and navy.  For more great tips, click here.

Lunch Date with Handbags and Shoes

Things may be starting to heat up in the city, but in fashion we’re already thinking Fall.  Earlier today, I had the pleasure of checking out one of my go-to destinations to pull for anything red carpet here in the city, Network Showroom.  They had a press preview for designers like R & Y Augousti, SW1 (Stuart Weitzman‘s new accessory line), Alexandre Birman Shoes, and Victor Hugo Bags.  I literally fell in love with everything I saw however, there were some pieces that I just couldn’t leave without snapping a photo.

These three minaudiere’s by R & Y Augousti particularly caught my eye.  Many of the pieces I saw from their collection had some type of stingray or python detailing.  I especially loved the mixing of both skins!

I’m told the new SW1 line designed by Creative Director Alvaro Gonzalez was inspired by Spanish Architect Santiago Calatrava with a 1930’s art deco undertone.  So clean and chic-I love it!

Couldn’t resist taking a photo of these spotted pony hair boots by SW1!

One of my favorite bags from the SW1 line I just had to get it on a PR girl to see how it hangs.  BTW-Check out her shoes!

These shoes my Alexandre Birman were designed with Water snakeskin.  They felt so smooth!

It was all color for Victor Hugo and these two pieces just jumped out at me.

Which is your favorite?
