Mad Hatter

Ever since Pharrell’s hat became a household name, I’ve been on the hunt to find something like it.  A fan of both his music and style, this is one trend that I just had to imitate.  After looking all over the internet for something similar, my cart (and head) still remained empty.  However, while out and about in Williamsburg recently, I struck gold at a nearby boutique.  I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and plan to rock this look all season long.

Block Party

I happened to be in the West Village for some meetings last Thursday and forget how beautiful this part of the city is.  Lucky to have had some down time in-between, I walked around with photographer friend Jocelyn Voo to snap some photos of my look.  Speaking of my outfit, I have to give a #mylatestobsession shout out to Banana Republic.  The peacoat and shirt I’m wearing are from their Spring 2014 collection. For me, these two particular pieces really stood out as must-haves for the season. If you’re interested in purchasing, I suggest you run to the nearest BR store as I believe the coat is pretty much sold out everywhere.  Good luck & happy spring-let the awakening begin!

Hello Gorgeous

As I bid farewell to yet another year, I look forward to what the new one has in-store for me.  Every year I set goals for myself to achieve, and this year I’ve decided to push the bar even higher.  I can’t wait to let you in on all the new partnerships and collaborations that are happening in 2014.   I’m also excited to be expanding the blog with new features showcasing lots more photos and cool videos, via the styleTV channel.

With that said, as I look back upon the last 365 days, I’m grateful for all the love and support that has been shown to me throughout the year.  Your likes, tweets and comments have not gone unnoticed.  To those who continue to do so on a daily basis, I greatly appreciate your loyalty in support of my work.  Keep them coming!

Camo Flock

Camo commanded its presence on the runways for fall.  Designers flocked to this particular print giving their take on the masking motif.  I particularly prefer something more authentic when it comes to this type of pattern, but couldn’t resist purchasing this button-down from J-Crew.  It looked so real and for the price I couldn’t pass it up.  Anywho, when it comes to wearing anything military-inspired, I’m not a fan of dressing  full on.  I suggest focusing on one piece like a jacket, shirt or trousers.  Then mix it up with other trends from the season.  Keeps it a bit unexpected if you ask me!

Holy Grail

Inspiration is everywhere and I recently found it Brooklyn.  Home to famous faces like Jay-Z, Mos Def and Eddie Murphy, this city is full of creative energy.  Having played the backdrop for my latest shoot, I couldn’t help but become completely mesmerized by several blocks of murals tagged by famous graffiti artists in Bushwick.  Brought to my attention by my photographer friend Vincent, he opened my eyes to a whole new world I never knew even existed.  To learn more about this secret gem, click here!

Get the look: MR. Porter’s Global Style

I don’t like being told what to do, but when there’s a $4,000 dollar shopping spree on the line, I’ll do whatever I need to do (legally) to win it.  If you know me personally, you’re already aware that chocolate and shopping are two of my weaknesses.  If you don’t, now you do!

With that said, I was invited to enter the global style campaign taking place during the month of November by Mrporter.com.  A fan of the designers they carry, I thought I would enter the following look via Instagram showing off my personal style to the world.  I also thought it would be fun to accompany the submitted photo with a cool get the look feature, since I am in it to win it.

For those who also struggle to just say no to a little retail therapy, I’ve personally picked out some of my favorite pieces from the Mr. Porter website for you to either admire or indulge.  Now, go to my photo and vote, voTE, VOTE.  Papa needs a new coat for christmas.

Mr. Moto

Motorcycle jackets have earned themselves the nickname “moto” since becoming a staple season after season.  If you’re looking to add a bit of badassness to your wardrobe, this is the piece that will surely make you feel like your living on the edge.  From Givenchy to Armani, the biker-inspired leather jackets were being shown over all the runways again last February, but with a bit of a makeover.  From different colors to innovative detailing, designers decided to give their take on the edgy skin.   If you’re planning to purchase, I suggest investing.  Yes, you will pay more now, but will have it for years to come to enjoy.   With only 55 days left until Christmas, it might not be a bad idea to ask Santa to add one to your list.  Just a helpful thought!

In with The Old for 2013

2013 marks the start of the new year!  That means out with the old in with new, for many.  But how about this year, starting it off a little differently, and ringing it in with the old.  And by old I mean vintage!  If you’re like and love to scour your local vintage shops for those great finds, why not save some money and pay off those high-interest credit cards you’ve been charging your designer duds too all year long, and add some great vintage to your wardrobe.  No one will ever know the difference. I promise!

To get you started, I was asked by the team over at The Fashion Spot, to offer their readers some great tips as to how they can get the most bang for their buck, when it comes to vintage shopping. OK, so here’s your first lesson!  If you live in a major metropolitan area, think about traveling outside your city, as prices will be drastically lower in neighboring towns.  If you’re dying for more great tips, I guess you’re just going to have to click here!;)
