Talking Fashion with Billy Baldwin

Last month, I stopped by The Maritime Hotel in New York City to catch up with Hollywood Actor Billy Baldwin.  What a treat!   It seems he’s recently joined forces with Swiss luxury watch maker Alpina to be the face of their new line of Diver watches.  I’ve always been a fan of the Baldwin brother’s so to have an opportunity to interview one was a check off my bucket list-haha.  Hesitate at first, Billy quickly opened up to tell us about his latest venture with Alpina, some qualities he looks for when finding that perfect watch, and letting us in on who his favorite designers are when on the red carpet.  This and more was captured by my amazing sidekick Andrew Day.

Sunday Street Style-Meatpacking District

This week’s Sunday Street Style was shot in the Meatpacking District, one of New York’s most fashionable neighborhoods.  Dakota and I thought we would find someone to shoot around every street corner, but to our dismay we were left with only the lucky numer 7.  We even got luckier as we spotted Supermodel Coco Rocha who struck a famous pose for us.  Thank you Coco!!!  We’re estatic to have you apart of this week’s edition.  To find out where we will be shooting next week, press the LIKE button on Facebook or FOLLOW on Twitter.

Lights, Camera, Fashion!

I recently was asked by Intel’s new website IQ to comment on a trend we’ve been seeing in fashion lately.  Most notably made famous by Miss Katy Perry, dawning a multicolored Cute Circuit gown at the 2011 Met Gala here in New York City.  If you aren’t familiar Cute Circuit fashion, you might want to brush up on your trends as some industry professionals are calling it the future of fashion.   As for me, I believe this latest craze could be a future trend as fashion is all about expressing oneself. To find more of what I had to say-Click here.

Will you be sporting this latest trend? We want to know! Leave your comments in the box below.

Sunday Street Style

Earlier today,  I went for a Sunday stroll with fashion photographer Dakota Blue Harper, ambushing the most stylish people on the streets of New York to snap their photo.  Stylesource will be partnering with Dakota for a weekly street style edition we like call, “Sunday Street Style.” It will feature those who truly stand out from the rest and inspire us through their style.

On this first ever edition of Sunday Street Style, Dakota and I walked around Union Square and NYU. We couldn’t help but notice these 11 individuals who were kind enough to let us snap their photo. Thank you!  Don’t forget to stop back every Sunday to see who’s made the cut.  If you want to find out where we will be this week, LIKE my fan page on Facebook or FOLLOW me on Twitter.

styleTV Hangs Out with Tamar Braxton!

styleTV stopped by an exclusive cocktail party held at Beso Hollywood in the heart of LA for the launch of R & B Singer, songwriter, and now WE tv reality star Tamar Braxton’s (Toni Braxton’s youngest sister) new show “Tamar & Vince”, featuring all the fabulous and sometimes crazy antics of herself and her husband, hugely successful music industry exec. Vince Herbert, most recently known for his part in the rise of superstar Miss Lady Gaga.

We were excited to catch up with Tamar to talk all things fashion of course for which she did not disappoint.

We quickly noticed Tamar was on trend with the season’s hottest colors in a beautiful one-shouldered cocktail dress by fashion designer Nicole Miller. She added a bit of sparkle to the look with jewels by her husband Vincent Herbert.  We’re curious thou!  Was the bling bought or designed by the hubby!?  Lastly, she topped off her look with a pair of studded heels by none other than Hollywood’s red carpet go-to shoe designer, Christian Louboutin. To find out one of Tamar’s favorite fashion accessories she loves to wear, check out the entire interview in this styleTV segment hosted by none other than our very own LA Fashion Correspondent Amber Jaye.

Celebrate the 4th of July in Style This Year!

I was recently asked by the young and talented editors over at Hercampus to offer up some great tips to their readers on how to look chic this holiday without seeming to cheesy.  A simple rule of thumb is to keep it subtle when dressing for any holiday.  Just like when dad wants to impress the neighbors by lighting off the most powerful firecrackers (and probably illegal), just keep it effortless.  Also, try and incorporate seasonal trends like color-blocking or lace.  This will keep you current and ensure you don’t look like your grandma.  For more great tips on how to look chic, click here!

BTW, My ladies over at The Promotion Factory here in New York recently decided to rain on my parade this holiday with a weather forecast, well 60% of it at least! Anyhoo, they wanted to make sure this wouldn’t damper yours or my style, so they suggested a great tip to stay dry and chic is to throw on a trench over your look.  I agree and think this one by designer Dawn Levy is perfect!  Now ladies, does it come in any other colors?   Also, what about for the men?

Stylesource mentioned on mo.com!

Stylesource was recently mentioned in an interview with mo.com.  I had a great time answering all the fun questions being asked, and am thankful for the team over at mo wanting to profile young entrepreneurs like me on their website in a time like this.  It’s not easy!  One of my favorite questions asked during the interview was, “Where does your passion for style and fashion come from?.”  You might be surprised by my answer, but I guarantee you’ll love it.  To find out the real reason why I love fashion, click here.
