Spring Flurry

Spring has finally sprung in New York City and I couldn’t be happier.  Here in Williamsburg where I reside, the streets and parks have turned into a flurry of white flowers, blooming from tree-to-tree.  In keeping with my environment, I’m excited to be sporting a spring favorite-white-on-white.  Turning in my bold black looks for something a little softer sounds like a great idea.

Block Party

I happened to be in the West Village for some meetings last Thursday and forget how beautiful this part of the city is.  Lucky to have had some down time in-between, I walked around with photographer friend Jocelyn Voo to snap some photos of my look.  Speaking of my outfit, I have to give a #mylatestobsession shout out to Banana Republic.  The peacoat and shirt I’m wearing are from their Spring 2014 collection. For me, these two particular pieces really stood out as must-haves for the season. If you’re interested in purchasing, I suggest you run to the nearest BR store as I believe the coat is pretty much sold out everywhere.  Good luck & happy spring-let the awakening begin!

As I bid farewell to yet another year, I look forward to what the new one has in-store for me.  Every year I set goals for myself to achieve, and this year I’ve decided to push the bar even higher.  I can’t wait to let you in on all the new partnerships and collaborations that are happening in 2014.   I’m also excited to be expanding the blog with new features showcasing lots more photos and cool videos, via the styleTV channel.

With that said, as I look back upon the last 365 days, I’m grateful for all the love and support that has been shown to me throughout the year.  Your likes, tweets and comments have not gone unnoticed.  To those who continue to do so on a daily basis, I greatly appreciate your loyalty in support of my work.  Keep them coming!

Brooklyn Bound

It’s official!  I recently made the move to Williamsburg and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Birthplace to Jay-Z, the Twizzler, and the first roller coaster, I look forward to discovering what this city rich in history and cool culture as to offer a boy like me.  So far, I’ve walked over the famous Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan, purchased by first pair of denim from Brooklyn Denim Company, which I might add is completely made here in the US, and tried the best chili dog’s I’ve ever tasted at famous Crif’s on N 7 St.  Does that consider me a brooklynite?  Anywho, I look forward to learning about new designers, brands and boutiques and sharing it with you all.

Speaking of sharing, I do want to let you in on a cool new #fashion4good brand.  The t-shirt I’m wearing was created by TransElated which was given for me to wear for this particular feature.  TransElated is more than just a brand, they are a social movement towards global unity, tolerance and acceptance. Using fashion, art and philanthropy as platforms for their mission, they design pieces that celebrate the world and its people, societies and languages.  From their Washington DC base, they spread these messages of love and acceptance through their exclusive fashion line and philanthropic efforts.

Translated is giving back by making yearly donations to an array of causes that support the well being and education of children, our future leaders.  Additionally, they have teamed up with Kollegebound Learning to provide tutoring and mentoring to kids living in homeless shelters in the United States and developing countries.  To learn how you can purchase the t-shirt I’m wearing or support their cause, click here.

Last but not least, a couple weeks ago, I attended a cool menswear event at Salvatore Ferragamo’s flagship location on 5th Avenue.  It was in collaboration with Details magazine for a curated list of holiday gift ideas. More interested in checking out the clothing rather than socializing, I fell in love with a beautifully designed pull-over sweater and calf-skin high-tops.  Unfortunately, $2200 was a bit over my budget. I did however splurge and get the high-tops.  I haven’t been able to take them off since.  They are probably the most comfortable designer sneakers I currently own.  If you love them like I do, splurge-worthy here.

#Thisisglam-Banana Republic

I paid a visit to one of Banana Republic’s stores this past weekend for a little retail therapy.  Upon entering their men’s store, my eyes quickly focused in on a army green colored hat and subtle camo-print sweater. To my surprise, the promotional offer they were running allowed me 40% off each item.  Quickly jetting off to a fitting room, I was asked by one of the associates to snap a photo of myself via Instagram and hashtag it with #thisisglam to enter in a chance to win a $500 gift card.  A fan of the #selfie movement, I was happy to oblige.  I thought I would also share this cool contest BR is doing all month long with you all.  They are giving away five $500 shopping sprees to one of their stores or online.  To learn more, click here!

Summer Fridays

Fridays just got a whole lot easier thanks to summer.   A time to disconnect from your regular routine, it’s all about keeping the weeks short and weekends sweeter.  With just 93 days to spare, many of us will be dashing off to the nearest beach or lake to focus on our tranquility, tan or tequila intake.

Aside from loosing some focus at work, I like to do the same when it comes to my wardrobe.  If you’re like me who sweats at the mere thought of humidity; staying dry is the name of the game.  A relaxed look is what I’m all about, and avoiding any wardrobe malfunctions is the perfect summer, if you ask me.

Let the dog days begin!
