This Friday marks the official start of summer, and although many of you might be gearing up for this years season, us fashion folks are already looking ahead to 2014. The kick-off started this past Sunday with the men up first showing collections in London. A 3-day event, something a bit out of the ordinary was the presence of one of my favorite designers; Mr. Bailey for Burberry Prorsum. Usually showing in Milan, I quickly found out he decided to come home.
After checking out the collection via Style.com, I have to say I was bit disappointed. Falling in love with him for his staunchy youthful appeal, I didn’t feel that yesterday. Where were the bold patterns, studs and sick bags? A bit bland, it was definitely lacking some luster if you ask me. I’m no Tim Blanks but anybody could see that this collection took a step back and not forward. Just turning 30, I want to look 20, not 40.
What did look youthful to me was the use of bold color throughout. From the ties, to the jackets, to the shoes, to even the sunglasses, it was a runway full of boys in berry hues. Refreshing to see, it looks as if next summer could possibly resemble one of my favorite desserts. Yum!

Indian Summer
I’ve been loving lately that traces of summer seem to still be lingering here in the Northeast. With temperatures allowing us to extend the use of our summer staples just a little longer, I’m not completely ready to dive into full fall attire. Keeping in touch with summer, yet starting to call on fall, marrying these two seasons when it comes to your look can sometimes be tricky. A simple tip to avoid feeling completely out of season? Mix and match your accessories! It also doesn’t hurt to keep things neutral for a seasonless touch.
